CHUTES TOO NARROW?

No, BRM isn't working Zach Braff's favorite band of yore. However, we are working Icelandic "electro-acoustic" (jesus, do I hate that term) "supergroup" (jesus, do I hate that term too), Efterklang. Parades (Leaf) is the collectives new sophomore jam, and this time you may not be so quick to dub the Eftercrew as simply the "greatest Sigur Ros opening band ever." No folks, not that we didn't love all that clicking and backwards remixed glockenspiel, but Parades sounds positively Beirut-influenced. The pseudo-merry marching band vibe is in full effect - choirs of all types, horns, makeshift percussion ... you know the drill.

Parades' first video is for the lovely single, "Mirador," whose video looks like The Shins' album cover for Chutes Too Narrow come to life, thereby fully explaining the seemingly random presence of The Shins throughout this post. That said, not to turn this whole things into EfterGate '07 (it's not like there's any shortage of quirky animation and graphic design in the world, as even a cursery glance at any Urban Outfitters catalogue will reveal), however the video for "Mirador" is really the cover of Parades come to life.

And, just cause I'm "in the giving mood" here's "Frida Found A Friend" another killer track off of Efter's new one:
