PHILIP GLASS!
Posted by Hartley On Apr 26, 2008
I was so tempted to post this:

But instead, yes, we do work this guy. and yes this is a picture of our man taken by famed photo-realist artiste, Chuck Close:

Not to get all high-brow on all of you, but yes, BRM's newest client is a composer!?!?! And not just any composer. Philip. Glass. Don't worry we won't be making a habit of this. We'll continue bringing you the latest french electro from Australia (Cut Copy), new bands that sound just like the Beach Boys (Explorers Club), spellbiding hushed folk (Bon Iver), and indie rock from the vaults (Big Dipper). However, when the dude who scored like more movies than Randy Newman wrote buddy songs for calls, we oblige. Happily. And happy for you all, Glass isn't all smoke and mirrors to work with. He's a super approachable all-around "chill" guy - so don't be afraid by the lack of vocals or the fact that he's done everything from Amex ads to award winning soundtracks for movies as diverse as The Hours, The Truman Show, and, um, Candyman (highly underrated, thoroughly scary flick). So yeah, want to wn some awards too? Drop us a line.
And here's a jam to remind you of Glass' signature highly melodic/dramatic/rhythmic stylee:
