Pac Man ghosts!!!!

 

As if I could love Zooey Deschanel and Matt Ward more! I've previously blogged many "bon mots" over She & Him's outstanding Merge debut, Volume 1. But now the duo with indie director du jour, Ace Norton, have made this totally spot on video for Volume 1's awesome jam, "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here." It's really pitch perfect, Norton places multiple "Zooeys" - my personal fave "cowgirl Zooey" amongst a playfully macabre, kitschy animation romp. Carton pools of blood, banjo-playing ghouls, twee-twee birds, and pac man ghosts ensue! It's saccharine and completely playfully - Zooey even winks at the screen in close-up - so if you are grumpy BE WARNED.
