OKKERbon rIVER

Posted by Hartley On Aug 26, 2008

Well check out this double Bank Robber Music bombshell: The man with the sexiest facial hair since I was rocking the facial hair, Bon Iver, douses his falsetto all over "Blue Tulip," a "stand-out" (hehe) on Okkervil River's new record, The Stand In's (Jagjaguwar). Really this clip kills so many birds with one clip - I don't know where to begin. If you are smitten (as everyone seems to be these days) with Bon Iver and are dying for something new from our man, this performance of "Blue Tulip" practically sounds like an outtake from For Emma, Forever Ago (Jagjaguwar) - which as our friends at Stereogum duly note - yes, it feels like this now classic record dropped "forever ago." We are frothing at the mouth for new Iver sounds - it's probably gonna be a while though so this clip may be your only fix for a bit! Plus, for those of you who've yet to get on the Okkervil River bus, now's your chance!

Here's the Okkervil's original version of "Blue Tulips" off The Stand In's brand new on Jagjaguwar:
