So here's this totally awesome new video for "Lost Coastlines," the single off Okkervil River's amazing new record, The Stand Ins (Jagjaguwar). The song is killer, and the video is completely "buzzworthy" to use an impossibly-dated industry term. However, the oddest thing about it is this!!!! Yes friends, apparently Kanye West is a big Okkervil River fan!?!?!? We knew our boy Kanye was all hipster-tastic but posting the Okkerguy's new video on his blog is really putting his skinny tie where his TV On The Radio is. Turns out West is a big fan of the alternate fantasy universe that Okkervil created with their last two concept albums. Kanye's site is even called "universe" city....We at the Bank Robber think the two of these music industry juggernaughts should do an "alternate world" collabo...I'd love to hear Kanye over some banjos, and farfissa organ. You heard it hear first people.
