DISCLAIMER: LYLE WOULD LIKE EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT EVENTHOUGH IT SAYS THIS BLOG POST IS COURTESY OF HIM, I, HARTLEY GOLDSTEIN JR. AM THE ACTUAL AUTHOR. NOW YACHT....

So the great minds at Pitchfork have weighted in on this new single from Yacht. They say this

9.0. Best New Music. Yes. For once we agree with Pdork. Like totally.

We also agree with Kanye, who also just blog'd about DFA-duo YAcht's new single, "Psychic City" - the f'ing dopest song in the whole BRM admin right now. Yeezy said this.

Following, one of Kanye's more astute commenters wrote this:

"kinda sounds like The Tings Tings and The Black Kids mixed together".

YES. Hear that Supervisor people? This is your new Ting Ting's replacement.

To me "Psychic City" really does sound like an updated "Genius of Love" - all greasy baselines, and choppy wacked up dubby drums. I really gotta give it up to these two for simultaneously working an Arcade Fire-like chant (see: the title of this blog post), AND utilizing the awesome AIM bubble sound as a killer snare sound. GENIUS. Also genius, check out these lyrics for the hook:

"Come on over / we're having a party for you."

A party jam. With party perfect lyrics to boot.

This is the song of the summer.

Yacht's incredible new album which has more hits than "Psychic City (Voodoo City)" is called See Mystery Lights and it's out 7/28 on our newest BRM bedfellows, DFA.
