Born To Love Volcanoes

I watched a pretty awesome special on one of the nerd channels the other night about photographing volcanoes. magma, lava, all that good stuff. No idea what it was called. You'll know it if you see it.

Besides volcanoes being completely rad, they are also relevant at the BRM right now:

If you haven't already heard, we really do love the herky-jerky guitar rocking Mt. St. Helen's Vietnam Band and their 14-year old drummer. These folks put on a monstrous show no matter what, but now, in a true Spinal Tap move, they are PLAYING AT A VOLCANO?!!? For reals. First band ever to play at Mt St. Helen's in WA. Did I mention that this volcano is ACTIVE? yeah, it is. Check 'em out video style:

Volcanoes, mountains, close enough - And from current members of Black Mountain comes the new album from side project Lightning Dust. Check out this early frontrunner for inclusion in my top 10 jams of the year:

What, we have more? How about the classic Merge records reissues of Volcano Suns!!

and, uh... Justin from Bon Iver has a new band coming out with an album very soon - they are called Volcano Choir, but you are apparently not allowed to hear them yet... soon kids, soon.
