BRM's Late Night War

Posted by Lyle On Jan 15, 2010

Enough with the Harvard grads trying to figure out the Late Night Battles.  What TV needs right now is a aging hipster doofus to take over the scheduling of the late night television.  So ladies and gents, I present the BRM's Big Take Over of the Late Night TV (cue applause... but we can dub it in later if you really aren't impressed, and you can't stop us) :

Well besides getting rid of the monologue Conan has to walk the plank and hand the reigns of  "The Tonight Show" over to J. Mascis and Murph of Dinosaur Jr.  Don't worry, Lou Barlow will be leading the band.  Hilarity ensues as J. tries to figure out how to interview "The Situation" from MTV"s "Jersey Shore". Possible new late night theme? Dinosaur Jr's "Friends":

I don't think Leno saw this coming but he's being bumped to the 12:30am slot and handing his show over to Britt Daniel of Spoon.  Who doesn't want to see Britt interviewing beautiful starlets late into the evening? Look how happy he is below in his suit:

From "Transference" check out "Written In Reverse":

If anyone has actually seen the Jimmy Fallon show it is where all the uh, "cutting edge" action is, so Yeasayer will be taking over "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon."  We will still let Jimmy hang around, he just has to make sure he has the new look down:

Over on CBS? Well even though Dave seems to have a few good years left in his tank, "The Late Show" will now be hosted by John Vanderslice!  Taking over the band will be the Long Winter's John Roderick...who knew the Long Winters had a new single/video? It is for the Give compilation, so no, this doesn't mean the new Long Winters record is on the release schedule, but that won't stop us from posting this:

Plus here is "Do What You Want" which is the b-side of the new Vanderslice single:

Any other possible Late Show hosts? I'm setting up lots of power lunches on the BRM helicopter next week so feel free to send me your suggestions!
