Saving The World One License At A Time
Posted by Lyle On Feb 5, 2010

So, this Sunday when you are watching the Jets (?) in the super bowl, you will finally get to hear the Arcade Fire's "Wake Up" in a NFL commercial. However, before you yell "Ultimate Sell Out" remember that all the proceeds (Arcade Fire is of course donating their fee, as is Merge and Bank Robber) go to Partners In Health. Jumping on the "proceeds from my commercial" go to Haiti train is the cutting edge artist, John Mayer! Yup, of course that is great that, uh John Mayer is doing this, but I wish he would also join my "Stop Polluting The World With Crappy Music" charity that I just started. I've reached out to Muse and the Zach Brown Band to contribute one less song to my silent charity compilation, but haven't heard back, which means they may be taking our cause to heart. I'm also thinking of asking The Who, but obviously that would be from post "Quadrophenia" onward. I can't say I'm not looking forward to see what remains of The Who stagger out on stage on Sunday, really people... shouldn't they just give up the slot to say, the Shout Out Louds? Maybe The Who shouldn't tell anyone and just let the SOL just run up and perform? I'm sure it will be better The Who playing "Bellboy". Anyway, here's the new video by the Shout Out Louds:
Enjoy!
