The 8 Bloggy Things Of Chanukkah

As BRM becomes a minority owned company (Am I the I'm last Jew standing?  What happened? I'm still the boss, but what is with all these goyim I keep hiring?), its up to me to take the five minutes it takes to write this blog that somehow ties in the eight nights of Chanukkah with 8 things to Blog about.  Eh, not so clever an idea, but I'm in a full on Manischewitz hangover mode, so please forgive my lack of sparkling creativity as we round up of some the end of year round ups:

Number 8:
NME TOP 75:  Looks like NME loves BRM... and not only for our common three initial shorthand.  This "wow I didn't really even know it still existed" magazine (and Sounds... what happened to Sounds?) dropped it's top 75 this week.  "Joke" No. 1:  75... really?  The Great Recession has us all cutting back, but cutting back on your Top 100?  "Joke" No. 2:  Top 75?  Silly Brits and their metric system.  Anyway, BRM has 5 of the top 75, including Caribou, Yeasayer, Gayngs, New Young Pony Club, and Joanna Newsom:

New Young Pony Club:

Joanna from a older record but in a new LG spot:

Number 7:
NPR Top 50: Well look at that!  2 out of 50.  Not bad... The Tallest Man On Earth,  Sharon Van Etten!

Here's a little SVE:

and Tallest Man:

Number 6:
While scrolling down the NPR page I noticed they have "Five Artist You Should Of Knows" and look at that it's Tame Impala!

Well here's Tame Impala's brandy new video, it is Nazztastic:

Number 5:
Sure Vampire Weekend have a song that is popping up in a few hundred commercials these days (I think I just heard them in that new holiday Haliburton commercial?), but what about the Bishop Allen Target ad?  It has a kiddless skinny couple "living" in a very big house...  About that Great Recession...  I think they might of creepy crawled the joint, but regardless check it out:

Numbers 4, 3, 2, and 1:
Looks like we got FOUR (yup) videos in Pitchfork's top 50 videos of the year and I'm getting tired of this concept so why don't we knock it out with:

Number 4:
Caribou - Odessa

Number 3:
ceo - Come With Me

Number 2:
Yeasayer - Madder Red

and Number 1:
She & Him - In the Sun

Yup, I ran out of steam there, but like I said, nothing worse then a Manischewitz hangover!  Ok... maybe The Manischewitz Hangover with Mel Gibson.

Enjoy,
Lyle
