Once and awhile (ok, this the first time), the BRM blog gets hijacked by an artist, and this time we turn it over to Apex Manor.  Apex Manor consists of Adam Vine and Ross Flournoy.  Ross' previous band was The Broken West, you might of heard them here (at the :50 mark):

Or you might of heard them on such shows as "Numbers," "Kyle XY," "Rockville CA," "Shark," or "The Reaper" or in the movie "Spread" which for some reason here is called "American Playboy":

Apex Manor just released a brandy new video, give it a spin and get into the prose.

Dear Music Supervisor,

We write you today from the blissful shores of Lake Isabella -- just outside Bakersfield -- to offer our esteemed services as songwriters, tunesmiths, and artisans in the lineage that stretches from Apollo to Apollonia.

We draw upon our years of experience, acres of heartbreak and mountains of debt to write the most exquisite song for any occasion.

Our songs have graced the silver screen since we first tuned out in the 60s, and the awards have been rolling in ever since. With Oscar season upon us, we thought it a ripe time to reach out to see if our talents could be fairly exploited. Below you’ll find examples; we believe they speak, or sing, for themselves.

In mid-1968, we found ourselves (in more ways than one) on Robert Wagner’s yacht, moored off the coast of Long Beach. A very kindly Brit by the name of John Schlesinger struck up a conversation -- he mentioned, in passing, that he was working on a film about a male hustler and his pimp. A lightbulb went off, and we asked if we was in need of a theme; indeed he was. We came up with this little ditty:

We have very little recollection of this next one. This was an otherwise fallow period for us -- during which time we entertained ourselves with quaaludes and chablis in the Howard Johnson’s across from the Watergate. We met a nice young man named Gordon Liddy, but wrote precious few songs. Suffice it to say, though, we penned one winner: it won an Oscar!

Oscar smiled upon us again four years later. We’d spent the better part of the late 70s doing a lot of heavy psychedelics and some light self-help. One night on a quiet rooftop in the South Bronx, while waiting to see a lunar eclipse, one of us asked the other, “Do you think New Jersey is somewhere between the moon and New York City?” Neither of us could satisfactorily answer the question. But another lightbulb went off. And we were off to the races!

Melody is so much more than just a collection of notes on a staff; it’s about making dreams come true. That’s where we come in. Supervisors, we know you’re looking for the perfect melody -- the tune that whistles its way straight into your heart. We have the experience, the desperation, and dare we say, the gravitas to provide just that.

Compensation is negotiable; quality is not.

Sincerely,
Ross & Adam
Apex Manor
