As those college kids keep on playing that game with the ball and the hoop, one overlooked tournament (no, not ladies college bb) are the licensing brackets.  Yup, the sweet 20 bringing all of the BRM labels together under one roof to battle it out to see which label will get the most licenses as well as send BRM the most snacks. Check out some bands who can possibly make it to the Elite 8.

The North Carolina Wolfbullheeldevils aka Merge Records are coming off of a stunning new video by Times New Viking.  Check out the interior defense by drummer Adam Elliot:

The elimination of St. Johns in the first round has not stopped Brooklyn based dfa records to being out a new track by YACHT. YACHT's previous release "See Mystery Lights" had some solid hits including a Cadillac commercial and a track in "Greenberg." This new track and the initial scouting report on the band's new album "Shangri-La" (coming out to June), shows that the band is playing for the title.  Check out "Dystopia":

Seattle's Barsuk are releasing a new line up of freshmen as well with The Globes! Armed with nothing more then amps and guitars, these young bucks are proving to be the possible dark horse contenders, bringing Seattle some of the best basketball they've seen since Shawn Kemp! Take a sneak peak at The Globes from training camp:

New Orleans is known for a lot, but college hoops isn't its strength...  Shall we talk about the New Orleans' Privateers? (and what is a "Privateer" btw?). Having not bothered to Google it perhaps we should talk about something else... How about... um... A BAND?  The Generationals have the power to make it to the final four coming off their last release strong, with hits including a Reese's Commercial and a opening title track for "Going The Distance"?  Can they repeat?  Check out the new video from "Actor Caster":

Norway might not be known for its basketball superpowers either (but who can forget Torgeir Bryn  (3 games in the NBA and only scored 4 points) let alone the uh Norges Basketballforbund), but BRM's latest recruit Sondre Lerche is a leader, single handedly going up against all of Europe.  It could lead to a big showdown game with the Generationals.  Heard of a film called "Dan In Real Life"?  If scoring the film isn't enough, the dude even has a cameo at the end!  Serious competition for sure!  Here's "Domino" from Sondre's upcoming self titled new album coming out in june:

OK, so don't forget to get me your ballots along with $4,000 in well concealed cash before the games begin!

Enjoy!
