BRM - Protest Survival Kit
Posted by Douglas On Sep 23, 2011

Sure, New York is an international city. Chinatown, Little Italy, Koreantown, Little Odessa, Little India, East Utica, ...uh... you been to Green Point? But its that special time of year here in New York when we play host to little earth on the Upper West Side. The UN General Assembly meeting is this week and if you need to do anything around the UN... don't. If things are not blocked off for one diplomat or another... its blocked off for protests. Now I know what you are thinking... international affairs isn't that biting off a bit more than the BRM blog should be chewing? Did you think we were a bit more of a Covert Affairs crowd? Well, you would be right... we are the Bank Robbers... if we are gonna talk about protests we are gonna talk about the protests on Wall Street.
For the past week we have not been able to exit via our normal stop on the 2, 3 line that is right outside our door nor have we been able to walk across the street for the ATM (Bennie's Thai Cafe only takes cash) (bonus bump... we had an international lunch this week!). Its friday and while the protesters may think they have broken our backs with those two moves, they know nothing of our drive to stay in one place for extended periods of time.
We have learned alot this Summer from the HurriQuakeRapture. We completed our emergency kit this morning. If they want to protest our licensing excellence it is our duty to endure.
Here is the BRM "We Can Stay Here Longer Than You" Survival Kit:
LICENSES - In our kit we are using a few songs from this week's TV shows:
"Summer Dust" by The Love Language in the premiere Revenge
"Time Stands Still" by Uh Huh Her in the second episode of The Secret Circle... an unreleased jam... the record isn't out for a few more weeks!
and "When They Fight, They Fight" by Generationals in the third episode of Free Agents
LUNCH - Um... we might roll the dice. Ok... it will take a while to agree on a place. Hang on.
PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT - We are gong to be in here a while... maybe a whole 8 hours. We are prepared. We will be occupying our selves with:
a. Licensing
b. Invoicing
c. Pitching
d. Mailing
e. Arguing about lunch
f. Pitching
g. Talking to you on the phone about pitching
h. Talking among ourselves about the phone call we just had about pitching
i. Realizing we still haven't eaten
j. Some graphs will be made both related and unrelated to lunch
k. Repeat steps a. - f.
Bonus "Crazy Jam"... Crazy But Not Afraid by Wild Yaks
LUNCH - Ok... we just leaned Bennie's takes American Express... we are gonna live after all.
Bonus "Hey we are gonna live Jam"... Celebration by They Might Be Giants
Why do the protesters hate us so much? Why have they virtually shut down Wall Street in hopes of breaking our will? Well our will will not be even dented because we have...
BEER - Yup the key to any Wall Street survival kit... beer. We are celebrating the first day of autumn with a Pumpkin Beer taste test. We have a pack of each of the new SixPoint Autumnation and the fall powerhouse Dogfish Head's Punk'in. Place your bets beer snobs.
ENTERTAINMENT - You know... while you have your beer. What are you gonna watch? We are gonna watch:
The new trailer for the Clint Eastwood directed J. Edger featuring the made for trailers Max Richter.
We also have to give a hand to Josh Ritter... he landed a good gig for his first post The Event appearance. Check him out in the new Army Navy video. Its nice that he lent the Army Navy boys a hand. You have to hand it to him... it was a good career move.
Ok. We are gonna go set up some cots on the lobby.
