Hey

I hate keeping secrets, so yes, I haven't left Bank Of America... I tried to go over there and close out my account, but I couldn't make it over there with all the protesters and their endless sea of vegan take-out.  I don't want to risk getting lumped in with the Occupiers and getting arrested since I have had a vegan cookie in the last 7 days... those new sensors the NYPD have are some seriously next level Batman toys.  Cut me some slack I have to pick up the kids after work.

What... Bank Of America being a nightmare is too "old news" for you?  You need some fresh headlines?  I sorta have you covered, if you've already read a version of this elsewhere, I apologize, but somethings are some nice you gotta say 'em twice (awwwww).  So this is it, time to share the biggish news that BRM is now pitching MUTE RECORDS. This is the first label I've picked up since DFA and well now that Absolutely Kosher has stopped putting out new releases, I saw a window for MUTE when they happen to come a knockin'...  I'm so excited that I'm going to sing my way into this new special all MUTE blog post...  you ready?

M Is for the MANY things you gave me... or no... M is for:

M83 "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" (MUTE): This is really exciting because now I can kill all those folders I've made trying to replace M83.  You know... big, brilliant, swirling, powerful, and heck they are even French!  These are all fancy words that really do describe M83 (especially the French part).  The brandy new record "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" is a double disc of songs that M83 dude Anthony told Spin are "very very very epic!" Check out:

U is for the UK bands they are putting out? No? UNDERGROUND?

Apparat "The Devils Walk" (MUTE): They are what?  They are German?  ...but the album is called "The Devils Walk".  What you don't get the reference?  The Percy Shelley poem... ring any bells?  Well, trust me that guy was British.  You might know Apparat from previous electronic releases on the Shitkatapult label (that was fun to type), but for their MUTE debut they've stepped it up.  Pesky new things for Apparat like vocals and live instruments put this beauty on the top of my morning commute playlists. Here is:

T is for the irksome TYPING of the band name S.C.U.M. (pesky periods):

S.C.U.M. "Again Into Eyes" (MUTE): Another super young band that brings back the gazing into shoes... young and cute, these Brits really know how to get at the good '90s, the way only our friends from over the pond could do. Thankfully they're gonna leave the cullinary delight to us, but for this genre of jams they are tops, check out "Whitechapel."

E is for ERASURE!  Wow that was easy (oh it could have been for EASY!):

Erasure "Tomorrow World" (MUTE):  Am I really going to blurb Erasure? Just spin "When I Start To (Break It All Down)" or "Be With You" and you will know they are back!  If only Erasure could beat up all the crappy bands that were inspired by them Christina Aguilera we are looking at you...

And what a  better soundtrack for the deathmatch of the century then When I Start To (Break It All Down) off of the new Erasure record:

For a special MUTE bonus round from the archives check out this video from Fever Ray... I think its about winterizing your pool.

So that will be all for your special Mute blog post.  We will return to your regularly scheduled blog post next weekish...

Really glad I didn't try this anagram thing when we picked up Temporary Residence Limited.

Thanks!
