The World Series Of Licensing?

I'm not really sure why no one is covering sports on the internet.  I click click click and just get endless coverage of hot cats, pigs with paws (kosher!), and of course the tracking device for lost keys.  So BRM is stepping up to the plate (get it?), and writing about the World Series.  Honestly, I was gonna make like some of the kids here and just wait for the series to come out on DVD so I can just watch it all in one weekend, but then Newcomer explained it wasn't that kinda series.  Now, since the blog is written in a undisclosed place (not the bathroom, maybe?), and time (pre-dawn? post zombie apocalypse?), we will not discuss the outcome...  just a slight tribute to uh, Texas.  To be clear, the BRM endorse no team, as the only thing we are rooting for this weekend is sleeping late and the Red Bulls...  So here ya go, the BRM non-baseball blog!

First off, how about the national anthem? You might of heard Zooey sang the national the other night? Well here it is:

You also might of heard She & Him have an Hanukkah album out? Here's a track from it:

Starting off at the top of the line-up, is The Wooden Birds!  Yup, one of Austin's favorites will off with the video for "Two Matchsticks":

Next up to bat, Uh Huh Her! Did you know that Camila is from Austin?  She sure is in a League Of Her Own (sorry, and sure we ran this last week, but hey if you don't like it start your own non-sports blog):

If Camila needs another lady on her team, then Sally Crewe (originally from the UK, now based in Austin) will gladly step up for the cricket match: Here is Sally Crewe and The Sudden Moves "Make Me Stay":

Did you know that was Doug Gillard on guitar with Sally? Nope, he is not from Texas, but I like this song from Doug's new solo single so dig in:

Doug also plays on the brand new Nada Surf song "When I Was Young."  Is it the best song Nada Surf has ever written? You tell me:

Now back to the ballgame! So of all the"jocks" on our roster, how about Spoon showing a little Texas love?  Did you hear "Trouble Comes Running" at the end of the first episode of this seasons Bored to Death? Since the song actually has running in the title we vote that Britt is our PLAYER OF THE DAY!

Next up... WILD FLAG.  I wanted to post this new video on the blog... but  I didn't really want to talk about it's tie in with this weeks Bored To Death (zoikes!)...but hey its got baseball too!  Here it is... Electric Band:

While we are spieling about this weeks BTD please note this weeks episode closer is the delightful Bachelorette jam "I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend."  After you hear the song in the show you will never be able to listen to it the same again, and I mean that only in the best way uh, imaginable.

Now that we are done with baseball, why don't we switch to uh, basketball? Check out Lateef and The Truthspeaker's "Let's Get Up," which features more basketball then we might for awhile....

Sigh,
lyle
