Some new TV show ideas from BRM.

Posted by Douglas On Feb 24, 2012

Ok... So my wife has been away for the week.  The world tells me that this means I should have been doing keg stands and punching rare white tigers... or at least going to see a show or two.  None of that happened cause this kid just had to get friendly at a petting zoo.  (there were plenty of jokes typed in this section... all of them fell prey to backspace)

Yup... I have had swine flu or something for a week.  This means all I have done is math and watch way too much TV this week.  I spent my week watching the entire season of Up All Night (I heard Donkeys, Generationals, and Doug Jerebine), caught up on Alcatraz (which featured YACHT this week btw)... heck I even started Quadrophenia which as far as I can tell is the British 60's Dazed and Confused.  Anyway... guess what that means for the BRM blog?  INSPIRATION!!!  TV PARTY!!!

This isn't a cop out... If I could just post hours and hours of TV for you to watch at your desk I would... but I want you all to concentrate on the TV you are making not the TV you have already made.  Check out the shows our bands have in development.

Lambchop is back with a pitch for a new reality show about the semi-pro wrestlers of Nashville.  Scoop up these rights ASAP!

The War On Drugs is working on a new scripted crime procedural set to appeal to the growing elderly population.  Check out Geriatric Suspect.

Beirut has been working on a period show about a mad cap WWII USO band.

Brooklyn's Hospitality is working on a new show that can finally fill the void in our lives by Friends... its called... wait for it... Friends Of Friends. Maeby Funke is already attached to play the lead!

Wooden Birds are jumping in with their answer to Lost... It Takes Along Time To Lose It.

M. Ward is already in talks with the Cartoon Network for his new War Drama.

Dreamers Of The Ghetto have pitched several networks on their new chat show Connection.  It's a slightly new take on the format where folks make sincere confessions to loved ones in order to better connect... but here is the spin.  They do it very close to each other.

Some of you may have already seen this... but Bon Iver seems to be angling for a permanent cast position on SNL.  He was back on the set this weekend after playing a few songs not too long ago.

That's it... I'm asleep too.
