Well, here I am, less than a month into being a Bank Robber, and all I have to show for it are dark circles under my eyes, a bit of a hangover and a handful of crappy photos that I took with my computer-phone.  Can you believe these guys make me go see bands play almost every night?  Perhaps this is some sort of initiation.  At least there's beer.  Beer helps.  Next time you see me at a show, either buy me one, or help me get a new job.  Without any further adieu: New York through the eyes of a Bank Robber rookie, one cold, dark night at a time:

4/26: Here We Go Magic @ Knitting Factory
Beyond sold-out.  They better play a bigger room next time, I don't like having to fight my way to the bar.

4/23: Young Widows @ St. Vitus

A half hour of relentless, powerful and unforgiving riffage.

4/23: Porcelain Raft @ Webster Hall
Getting to play right before The Vaccines in gigantic sold out rooms every night is practically cheating.

4/19: Lambchop @ LPR
Hard to complain about a show that has comfy seats up by the stage, table service and Yo La Tengo as a secret opener.  Glasslands please take note.

4/14: Dinosaur Feathers @ Glasslands
Who knew pop could rock like this?

4/12: Yellow Ostrich @ Mercury Lounge
Its nice to be around a band and people who are excited (meaning the Mercury staff almost smiled).

4/8: Nada Surf @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Now that Doug Gillard is in the band, I keep hoping they'll bust into "I Am A Tree" at some point.

4/9: Nada Surf @ Webster Hall
A New York band returns to New York to play a really big sold out show in front of lots of enthusiastic dudes in their 30's.
