Pardoner "Target Practice"
From Echoes and Dust:
”
o that effect, it just might be the time to recognise the revivalistic qualities of the music created by San Francisco’s Pardoner, particularly the band’s latest album Target Practice. In many aspects, it is the true college/indie rock that was and still is – with a great melodic sense throughout and some guitar- and high-quality vocals-based music, and you can name as many bands and artists this stuff reminds you of, but there is one key thing there – it is good stuff, no matter where the initial inspiration came from, so you can easily pardon the guys for wherever they picked their melody lines from.
Pardoner are no real newcomers, as Target Practice is their fifth album, but it just might be time for them to be recognised as true purveyors of college rock revival that is on the verge of its revival.”
