Katie Von Schleicher "Shitty Hits (Ba Da Bing)"
When Katie Von Schleicher was interning at Ba Da Bing Records, our bud Ben offered her the chance to release a cassette on the label (because he is a swell guy). Some demos perhaps? A live recording? Well, Katie decided to go all the way with it, and recorded the self-produced, fully-realized Bleaksploitation which garnered her all kinds of interest in her music. After the surprise success of that release, here we find her releasing her proper full-length debut, the hazy, sunny T-Rex meets Paul McCartney at his most pop-loving sounds of Shitty Hits. Pop it in the tape deck, roll all the windows down, and drive as fast as the law allows on your favorite highway while you blast the sounds of “Paranoia.”

David Nance "Negative Boogie (Ba Da Bing)"
The new David Nance LP Negative Boogie (Ba Da Bing) is like if Sonny Sharrock was the guitar player for Captain Beefheart as they tried their best to cover Pere Ubu. And there it is friends, the greatest band describing I’ve ever done in a blurb. I should probably just retire now and sit on a beach somewhere regaling bathing suited wait staff about the time I described David Nance as…. Oh right, you were there when it happened. Well have you listened yet? You haven’t!?! Check out “Give It Some Time” immediately and meet me in Bali for tales of the glory days…

Laibach "Also Sprach Zarathustra (Mute)"
Fresh off of their South Korean tour, electro-metal pioneers Laibach are back with an album featuring the sometimes gorgeous, sometimes harrowing orchestral score they wrote for a stage production of Thus Spoke Zarathustra, based on the novel by Nitetzsche… Good lord! That is likely the strangest sentence I’ve ever written. This is really a surprising album from the longtime band. Also Sprach Zarathustra (Mute) is full of passages of outright beauty, which is not something Laibach is known for. It’s also super fun (“fun” and Laibach who knew?) hear the band stretching their musical wings this late in their career. It’s also full of eerie, techno-creep passages (which is far more close to their normal sound.) Until you listen to this record, you’re aren’t going to have much of a clue to it’s captivating sounds, so check out the foreboding “Das Nachtlied.”

Lo Tom "Lo Tom (Barsuk)"
Why write about a supergroup when you can screen cap brilliance like this from the YouTube comments section?
Agreed David Sky Walker! We love this shit too! Best use of comment section since I learned that I really do LOL at that cute dog video (his little legs move like he thinks he’s the one pedaling the bike!) Check out the tune “Overboard.”
